David and I met 1 1/2 years ago on the internet. Actually, the yahoo chat room to be exact. I met several people off of it before, as did my fiance, but no one really sparked our interests. Both of us were on a Yahoo chat room, and I saw his icon that said "on line". I decided to send him an instant message, then I got one back within the next minute. We must have chatted a couple of hours that first night. Then, it ended up being where we were chatting for a month or two. I literally lived on the computer because I was chatting with David so much. Anyways, David asked me if we should meet. I figured, "Why not?" I actually was expecting this whole thing to be a flop like all the others, so I wasn't getting my hopes up. David told me the day before we were to meet that he was going to cancel. He felt the same as I did. Well, we both decided to get the nerve and go meet at this sports bar halfway (we lived an hour apart at the time). As soon as I walked in I saw this handsome looking man sitting all alone at a little table. Our eyes connected and the rest is history.
Fast forward... On Sunday, February 11, 2001 David proposed to me!!! We went looking at rings on that Friday night and I saw "the one". I absolutely loved it, not to mention it was 1/2 off! David told me that he couldn't afford a ring right now and that this ring just wasn't meant to be. He said we'd have to look again some other time. Well, I was sulking all the way home like a spoiled little brat. David sure was convincing.
So, that Saturday, while I went to work out, he went back to the jeweler and got my ring! What a sneaky guy!
Sunday came around and while I was watching TV, David came up to me, took my hand, and led me upstairs to our room. I was wondering why he was taking me to our room in the afternoon. So, he lifts me up onto our bed. (It's a huge oak bed. I feel like I need a stepladder to get into it.) He proceeds to get on one knee and he told me how much he loves me and how he wants to spend the rest of his life with me. Then, he pulls out this velvet black box and takes out "the ring" I had tried on Friday! I balled and balled. He said, "So, is that a yes?" All I could mutter out was, "Uh huh". Then he asked me if I would marry him. He said he was going to wait until Valentine's Day, but decided to just do it spur of the moment. I'm glad he did. It was perfect and he is the most wonderful man. I am so lucky to have him in my life. I can't wait to marry him!!!!!!!
